DISTRICT 9 NEWS

We have our District 9 Showcase coming up on June 4th at Ronsick Field.   Check in begins at 9 a.m. for pitchers only.  All remaining position players can check in at 9:30 a.m.  The start time will be 10 a.m.  This year the showcase is for the players graduating in 2023 & 2024.  

Please return  the manager's showcase spreadsheet that was emailed to all the managers to Kent Getsee (email: kentgetseeplm@gmail.com) by Friday, May 26th.  As a reminder players will not be accepted the day of the showcase so, please make sure your players are pre-registered by May 26th with Kent.

A couple additional reminders regarding the park requirements NO METAL CLEATS, so either turf shoes or rubber cleats on the field.  Also, NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS as well.

Legion Baseball team registration is open

Registration for the 2023 American Legion Baseball season is open at baseball.legion.org.

The early deadline for registration is May 15. Teams registered after May 15 may be subject to a department late fee through the final deadline of June 1. Please note that each American Legion department may set an earlier deadline for registration.

Teams may begin to pay registration fees and insurance premiums beginning Feb. 15.

To learn more about your specific department’s state fees and deadlines, contact your department chairmen.

As part of the education and training requirements of Public Law 115-126, the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017, all coaches, managers and volunteer staff members must complete the Abuse Awareness course either through Protect Youth Sports or USA Baseball. All coaches, managers and volunteer staff members must also have a completed and passed background check. Click here to download the American Legion Baseball Risk Management Guidebook.
